A NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED MONTHLY BY THE SUNRIVER OWNERS ASSOCIATION
JUNE 2026
VOLUME XLIX • NUMBER 6
Capital Transfer Fee proposal invites a broader look at Sunriver’s future
comprised of owners. If formed, such
a group could help review priorities,
gather input and bring a community
perspective to conversations about
future capital projects. In a place where
owners care deeply about both quality of
life and long-term stewardship, that
kind of involvement would be an
important part of the process.
Those possibilities could range from
updates to parks and shared facilities to
expanded recreation options, including
new or improved sports courts.
While no specific project list has
been adopted, the SROA board has
said the intent is to create a dedicated
source of funding for amenities and
infrastructure that directly benefit
current and future owners.
The accompanying rendering of a
possible Fort Rock Park expansion offers
a glimpse of how that conversation could
begin to take shape.
It is not presented as a final plan,
but rather as a visual example of the
kinds of improvements that could
be explored over time if a funding
source is established. In that sense, the

SROA NEWS – The association is
again using an online voting system
for this year’s election of candidates to
the SROA Board of Directors and ballot measure for the proposed Capital
Transfer Fee.
The benefits of an online voting platform include increased security, allowing
owners to vote at their convenience via
phone, computer or tablet, accurate
counting and a secure and auditable
process that ensures voter anonymity
and provides certified results quickly.
Last year’s SROA e-ballot process also
achieved a higher voter turnout.
The owner of record for a property
can expect to receive a unique user code/
password in early July to access their ballot along with weekly email notification
reminders to vote. Guardrails are in place
to allow only one vote per property –
ensuring no property votes more than
once – even if there are multiple owners.
In the meantime, the property owner
of record needs to ensure SROA has a
current email to receive an online ballot. If you have previously submitted an
“update my information” form, there is
no need to contact SROA again.
Those who do not have the ability to
vote online can opt-in no later than June
15 to receive a paper ballot by filling out
an online form at www.sunriverowners.
org/ballot.
Ballots will be sent in early July with
the election closing at noon on Aug. 8.
CTF proposal is also part of a larger
conversation about how Sunriver can
grow thoughtfully while preserving the
character that owners value most.

Does SROA have your
email address?
Online ballots will only be
sent to the owner of record
that SROA has on file. If you feel
SROA may not have your current
email, please go to

to update your information or
opt-in no later than June 15
to receive a paper ballot.

SUNRIVER, OR 97707
SROA NEWS – As Sunriver owners
prepare to vote this summer on a
proposed Capital Transfer Fee (CTF),
the discussion has largely centered on
how the measure would work.
Just as important, however, is what
passage of the measure could make
possible over time: a new way to think
about community investment and the
kinds of owner-focused improvements
that could help Sunriver continue
to evolve.
One idea already being discussed is
the creation of a Capital Plan Task Force
