Compliance corner: Tips to stack firewood
Firewood storage is important part of wildfire prevention.
Sunriver regulations require
that visible firewood piles be
kept at least 20 feet from any
structure during fire season,
helping reduce the risk of fire
spreading to homes.
Property owners may store
up to three cords of firewood,
unless the home’s primary heat
source is firewood. Additional
storage must be approved by
SROA. One cord is 8 feet wide
and 4 feet high.
