SHARC Summer 2026 recap, another successful season
By Colin Sullivan
Summer has been fast, furious, and so much fun for
SHARC’s recreation team!
We have had more than
100,000-check ins into
SHARC and member pool
since the start of summer. It
takes a large team and a lot of
coordination to keep operations running smoothly. Luckily, we have the best team of
more than 80 lifeguards and
attendants, and more than 30
guest services representatives
and instructors! The team
has overcome many obstacles
to ensure all guests have a
happy and safe visit, navigating smoke, lightning storms,
high winds, water saves and
countless amounts of first-aid
treatment. Member Pool has
continued to provide the calm
escape for our homeowners
and guests.
You may have noticed some
upgrades at our facilities for the
summer with shade structures
installed at SHARC, which are
available to rent. In addition,
a permanent shade structure
was installed over the walkway
at the Ft. Rock Park Pickleball
courts. Now, you can stay a
little cooler while enjoying our
top-of-the-line facilities!
Our Tennis Club oversaw
another successful Sunriver
Solstice Tennis Tournament
in June. We welcomed more
than 400 players, many from
out-of-state, to Sunriver over a
couple of weekends spanning
the Junior and Adult tournaments. Daily tennis and pickleball clinics and private lessons
have been available to owners
and guests all summer long.
Pickleball Club has had strong
attendance as well, with more
than 2,000 participations.
Our Events Team has been
busy as well. We have enjoyed
hosting all of our regular clubs
and meetings, in addition to
bigger events such as weddings
and family reunions. Projects
were completed to upgrade the
landscaping and the fencing
in the amphitheater. We also
hosted another successful year
of our Turf Tunes series and
Uncorked event.
Our land and aqua fitness
classes continued daily offerings with steady attendance to
provide a fun and welcoming
environment for working out
and staying healthy. Homeowners also enjoyed the new
summer offering of Slow-Flow
Yoga, which is already confirmed to return for next sum-
mer as well.
We cannot believe two
months of summer have already passed, and we cannot
wait to keep serving our homeowners and guests daily for the
remaining month!
