SROA NEWS – Due to seasonal
traffic and pedestrian congestion on a
stretch of West Core Road, the speed
limit has been reduced from 25mph
to 20mph during busy summer
months from June through Sept. 15.
This particular 1/3 mile stretch of
West Core Road includes:
• 6 legal crosswalks
• 3 well used, unauthorized and
unmarked crossings
• 7 parking lot entrances
• 1 road entrance
Parking for the Woodlands golf
shop, putting greens and SROA’s
Member Pool and North Tennis
complex is located on the south side
of West Core Road and requires
pedestrians to cross over West Core
to reach those amenities.
Although there are marked crosswalks in the area, people have a
tendency to cross over the landscape
to reach their intended destination.
The combination of pedestrians,
bicyclists and golf carts mixing with
vehicular traffic in this area has created a potential hazard.
Advance warning signs have been
installed along with new reduced 20
mph speed limit signage.
Adventure at Your Leisure: July Trails Edition

One of the things I love most about
Sunriver is that adventure doesn't have
to look any particular way.
For some, adventure is a leisurely walk
along the Sunriver pathways, a family
bike ride to The Village or a quiet walk
across the Cardinal Landing Bridge
while watching the river drift by below.
For others, it's a sunrise hike to an alpine
lake, a challenging hike to a mountain
viewpoint or a mountain bike ride that
leaves your legs burning and your face
covered in dust.
The beauty of Sunriver is that all of
it is available, often within minutes of
your front door.
July is one of the best months of the
year to get outside and explore. Long
days, warm temperatures, and snow-free
trails make it the perfect time to discover
something new, whether you're looking
for relaxation or a challenge.
If your version of adventure is more
leisurely, start with the pathways that
connect nearly every corner of Sunriver.
34 miles of paved trails wind through
forests, meadows, and neighborhoods,
creating endless opportunities for walking, running, and cycling. The Cardinal
Landing Bridge has quickly become a
favorite destination, providing a scenic
crossing and a fresh perspective of the
river and surrounding landscape with
access to Deschutes National Forest.
Ready to venture a little farther? The
Sunriver area offers countless hiking opportunities suitable for every skill level.
Nearby favorites such as Benham Falls
and Dillon Falls provide beautiful river
views with relatively easy terrain, while
trails around Sparks Lake and Todd Lake
offer stunning mountain scenery without requiring an all-day commitment.
For those seeking a bigger challenge,
the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway delivers some of Central Oregon's most
memorable hikes. South Sister, Green
Lakes, and Broken Top offer rewarding
experiences for hikers willing to put in
the effort, with spectacular views that
symbolic of this region and why it is

Board candidate, ballot measure coming via email
SROA NEWS – The association is
again using an online voting system
for this year’s election of candidates to
the SROA Board of Directors and ballot measure for the proposed Capital
Transfer Fee.
The benefits of an online voting platform include increased security, allowing owners to vote at their convenience
via phone, computer or tablet, accurate
counting and a secure and auditable
process that ensures voter anonymity
and provides certified results quickly.
Last year’s SROA e-ballot process also
achieved an approximately 20% higher
voter turnout.
The owner of record for a property
can expect to receive a unique user code/
password in early July to access their ballot along with weekly email notification
reminders to vote.
Guardrails are in place to allow only
one vote per property – ensuring no
property votes more than once – even
if there are multiple owners.
Ballots will be sent in early July with
the election closing at noon on Aug. 8.
