From frogs to rabbits: What's next for the Sunriver Stars
Sunriver Stars Drama Camp
This year marks the eighth
annual Sunriver Stars Kids
Drama Camp, a program
that has introduced local children to the magic of theater.
Thanks to the dedication of
our volunteers and supporters, the camp continues to
be offered free of charge to
community members.
The camp will be held July
20-24 at the Sunriver Nature
Center, where participants
will spend the week exploring
acting, movement, storytelling,
teamwork and imagination.
This year’s theme is “Frogs,”
and campers will be hopping
into a week of creativity, adventure and theatrical fun.
Throughout the week, participants gain confidence, make
new friends and discover the
joy of bringing stories to life.
Families and community
members are invited to attend
the free Kids Drama Camp
Showcase on July 24 and celebrate the creativity and hard
work of the young performers
as they share what they’ve
learned during their week long
theater adventure.
Looking ahead to the fall,
Sunriver Stars is excited to
begin preparations for its November production of “The
Story of the Velveteen Rabbit.”
Based on the beloved classic
by Margery Williams, “The
Velveteen Rabbit” is a timeless
tale about love, friendship and
the incredible power of being
truly seen. Generations have
treasured the story of a toy
rabbit who longs to become
help bring this beloved classic

the performing arts. From its

The final curtain has closed
on “Death by Chocolate” and
what a memorable production
it was.
Audiences filled the seats,
laughter echoed through the
theater, and the cast and crew
delivered a performance that
reminded us why community
theater continues to thrive
in Sunriver.
Director Victoria Kristy extends her sincere gratitude
to the cast, crew, volunteers
and patrons who helped
make the production such a
tremendous success.
Community theater depends
on countless hands working
together, and “Death by Chocolate” was a wonderful example
of what can happen when a
community comes together to
create something special.
