In memorium: Longtime Sunriver resident and volunteer Doug Seator
We at the Sunriver Service
District are saddened by the
recent passing of Doug Seator,
a key volunteer and contributor to Sunriver. Doug was
instrumental in the formation
of the district in 2002 and
was an early managing board
member. He continued his
service as a member of the
Civil Service Commission,
responsible for establishing
and enforcing rules for civil
service, and ensuring fair and
impartial treatment of employees among other things.
Doug was also a long-time,
key member of the Sunriver
Citizen Patrol, and led the
traffic safety of many activities such as the Pacific Crest
Sports Weekend, Otter Run
and the recent Sunriver Oktoberfest Fun Run. He was
often on patrol with other
CP members ensuring that
our pathways and residences
were safe.
Last year, in recognition of
all the volunteers that help
the service district function,
but especially in light of his
many contributions, the new
public safety building's public
training and conference area
was officially named Doug
Seator Hall. The district will
honor Doug's contributions
by continuing to faithfully
and joyfully protect the citizens
of Sunriver. We honor the contributions of all our volunteers
and could not function without
their help. Doug's contributions
exemplify this, and we will greatly
miss him.
