SSD Managing Board meeting summary
The Sunriver Service District Managing Board held its
regular meeting on April 19,
2026. Board members present:
Jim Fister, John Shoemaker,
Denney Kelley, Kent Zook, Jill
Stephens and Randy Schneider
(SROA board representative/
ex-officio).
SSD staff present: Police
Chief Pete Rasic, Lt. Jason Van
Meter, Fire Chief Bill Boos,
Fire Deputy Chief Rob Bjorvik,

bike patrol contract update:
• SROA will not continue
with SSD rules enforcement
and bike patrol contract agreements. SROA hired Compliance Officer Brett D'Alessandro, who will start May 1,
2026. Police Chief Rasic noted
the importance of a joint statement between SROA and SSD
that educates the public about
the changes.

expansion update:
• There has been no response
from legal counsel to prepare a
memo or recommendation and,
due to the complexity, administrator Holliday said a timeline
is not available.
–Nominating committee:
• Applications for two SSD
board seats closed and chair

MAY 2026 SUNRIVER SCENE
The Sunriver Service District (SSD) Board holds its
regular monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each
month at 1 p.m. These meetings provide the board with
the opportunity to review pending business and take action
on matters that support the police and fire operations and
services of the district.
Community participation is welcomed and encouraged.
A public comment period is offered at the beginning of
each meeting, giving residents the chance to share their
input directly with the board members.
Meetings are held at the Sunriver Public Safety Building,
Seator Hall, 57475 Abbot Drive, and are also accessible
remotely through Microsoft Teams for added convenience.

–In March, the Sunriver Police Department received 547
calls for service, 38 of which
were emergencies. Officers
investigated 47 cases, made
6 arrests and conducted 123
traffic stops.
