SSD Managing Board meeting summary
The Sunriver Service District
Managing Board held its regular
meeting on Thursday, Feb. 19,
2026. Board members present:
Jim Fister, John Shoemaker,
Denney Kelley, Jill Stephens
and SROA ex-officio Randy
Schneider. Kent Zook was
absent.
SSD staff present: Police
Chief Pete Rasic, Fire Chief Bill
Boos, Lt. Jason Van Meter, SSD
administrator Mindy Holliday
and assistant Rachel Popp.

the exterior apron and drywell
to alleviate flooding issues.
–Reserve Study remains on
hold until all construction
pieces on the new facility are
completed.
–Discussions still underway
between SROA and police chief
regarding Bike Patro and rules
and regs agreements. “There
have been many discussions
but no movement and no agreement,” said Chief Rasic. “SROA
wants to separate the Bike Patrol
contract from rules and regs.”
–Approved $10,000 contract
for a legal retainer to research
the expansion of police services
to Caldera Springs and Crosswater communities. Approved
administrator Holliday to sign
the agreement.
–Approved SSD chair signature on revision to Sunriver Fire
Chief employment contract.

passing of Sunriver resident and
Citizens Patrol member Bob
Hann on Feb. 19.
–Police Chief Rasic introduced Sgt. Kyle Voll as the
department’s newest officer.
Voll retired from Bend Police
Department after 24 years.

MARCH 2026 SUNRIVER SCENE
SSD monthly board meetings:
Time change for March
The Sunriver Service District (SSD) Board holds its
regular monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each
month at 1 p.m. Please note: The March meeting will be
a 2 p.m. to accommodate out-of-country travel for some
board members.
These meetings provide the board with the opportunity
to review pending business and take action on matters
that support the police and fire operations and services of
the district.
Community participation is welcomed and encouraged.
A public comment period is offered at the beginning of
each meeting, giving residents the chance to share their
input directly with the board members.
Meetings are held at the Sunriver Public Safety Building,
Seator Hall, 57475 Abbot Drive, and are also accessible
remotely through Microsoft Teams for added convenience.
The agenda, board packet of materials, Teams link, and
additional meeting information are posted in advance and
always available at www.sunriversdor.gov.
–The department is purchasing an LRAD device for
emergency messaging.
–Contract negotiations continue with SROA for Bike
Patrol and rules and regs enforcement.
–Contract negotiations between the Sunriver Police Officers Association for its Collective Bargaining Agreement has
reached a language agreement

–The department received 46

six to eight for in-person interviews.
