Sunriver Music Festival announces 49th season summer concert series
The Sunriver Music Festival
presents its 49th season from
Aug. 10 to Aug. 20 at Sunriver
Resort Great Hall and the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend.
Artistic director and conductor Brett Mitchell will lead
world-class musicians and renowned soloists in four classical
concerts, a pops concert and a
family concert.
Concert series celebrates
America's 250th anniversary
The concert series includes
a celebration of American
orchestral music as part of the
nationwide commemoration
of the country’s 250th anniversary.
“This summer, America celebrates the 250th anniversary
of its independence, and we're
so pleased to mark the occasion
with at least one work by an
American composer on every
program this season,” Mitchell
said.
He shared the audience will
hear the music from Aaron
Copland, Samuel Barber, Kevin Puts, Edgar Meyer and Joan
Tower along with European
classical musicians including Beethoven, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Bach, Mozart and
Schumann.
