about being in an internment
camp. He and his wife raised
their four kids in Bend. Flennaugh lives in Portland and
volunteers at the Japanese
American Museum of Oregon
as a docent.

between diet and cancer risk,
and the simple things people
can do to decrease their chances
of developing the disease by
food choices. Cancer is an incredibly complex disease, but
for certain cancers, like breast,
prostate and colon cancer, diet
could make a big difference in
your lowering your risk. As we
find out about what drives the
biology of cancer, it is becoming clearer that it’s not just
genetics that predict your risk.

an 11-year-old boy when the
U.S. entered World War II. As
a Japanese American, he was
torn away from his life even
though he was a U.S. citizen.
His daughter, Yukiko, will share
