Name that plow:
And the winner is...
SROA NEWS – Back in January,
we asked readers to dig deep (snow
pun intended) and send in their most
creative suggestions to name SROA’s
newest snowplow. Our inbox did not
disappoint.
After much consideration and no
shortage of chuckles, a clear favorite
emerged.
And the winning name is… Plowasaurus Rex.
This fitting prehistoric powerhouse
was the top vote getter, submitted by
Gordon Werkema, Peter Baker and
Debbie Faulkner. Apparently, great
minds think alike.
In the coming weeks, staff will work
designing and adding the new moniker
to the plow truck, officially welcom-
Gordon Werkema, who was one of three people who submitted ‘Plowasaurus
Rex,’ went as far as to send his design vision (fun, but not practical for SROA
use). Imagine a snowy day in Sunriver and seeing this rumbling down your lane.
ing Plowasaurus Rex to SROA’s winter
fleet just in time for its next stormy
adventure.
Oh, and here’s a few of the other
favorite name contenders:
• Betty Whiteout
• Han Snowlo
• The Big Leplowski
• Fast and Flurious
• Snowmageddon’s Revenge
• The Berminator
• Plow Chicki Plow Plow
Volunteers sought to populate new Sunriver Pathway
Ambassador program; openings on OEC Committee
SROA NEWS – Sunriver’s miles of
scenic pathways are one of the community’s greatest amenities. This summer, a
team of passionate volunteers will assist
to make them even better.
A new Pathway Ambassador Program
will serve as friendly guides – offering
education, assistance and helpful tips
to ensure everyone can enjoy the paths
safely and confidently.
This idea was born out of the 2025
Pathway Safety Task Force.
Ambassadors will be active from
mid-May through mid-September,
when Sunriver’s pathways welcomes the
heaviest use of cyclists, walkers, runners
and families. Their presence will help
promote courtesy, reduce conflicts and
enhance the overall user experience for
residents and visitors alike.
Curious what the program looks like
in action? View the program’s outline
in Exhibit B (page 31) of the Pathway
Safety Task Force Report at www.sun
riverowners.org/taskforces.
For additional questions, reach out to
James Lewis, SROA General Manager,
at jamesl@srowners.org.
OEC committee volunteers needed
Also known as the “fun” committee,
the Owner Enrichment Committee
develops, promotes and plans potential
educational, social and recreational
activities/programs for the benefit of
all owners.
This committee meets monthly from
September to June.
Interested in jumping in as a volunteer – either for the OEC or Pathway
Ambassador Program? Simply complete
