FEBRUARY 2026 SUNRIVER SCENE
February is the month of
hearts, and, in Sunriver, the
heart of our community is
reflected in everyday acts of
kindness.
A thoughtful gesture, a helping hand, or a few hours of
service can make a meaningful
difference. Especially around
Valentine’s Day, it’s a perfect
time to focus on love in action.
For members of the Sunriver
Women’s Club, kindness is
not just celebrated – it’s put
to work.
The Sunriver Women’s Club
is a 100% volunteer service
organization, powered entirely
by the time and dedication of
its members.
In 2024 alone, volunteers
logged more than 10,000
hours of service. Through
volunteerism and community
outreach, members turn compassion into support for those
in need.
One of the club’s longstanding initiatives is Hands to
Hearts, which connects the
caring hearts of the volunteers
to various community service projects. These projects
may include activities such as
stocking shelves at a food bank
or participating in the club’s
twice-yearly road cleanups.
The Sunriver Women’s Club
offers many ways to volunteer,
with a wide range of time
commitments to fit different
lifestyles. There are many opportunities for community
and club members to support
the goals and mission of the
organization. Some opportunities are small but meaningful
– such as helping serve food
at the July Community Picnic
or assisting at a special event –
while others offer a chance for
deeper involvement, including
committee work or serving on
the board. Whether members
can give a few hours a year or
are looking for an ongoing role,
there is a place for everyone to
contribute.
By giving time, skills and
energy, volunteers strengthen
community connections and
help maintain the caring spirit
that makes Sunriver special.
Volunteering offers a chance
not only to support others,
but also to build friendships,
discover purpose and be part of
something meaningful.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, the Sunriver Women’s Club
invites local and part-time residents to consider joining to see
how they might share the love.
