Byrne is a fun guy, great writer and entertaining speaker. We
always enjoy his events.
It is challenging to accomplish in an edge of your seat
thriller, but Byrne’s Dezmond
Aloysius Limerick, Dez to his
friends, sparkles.
He is just as deadly as Jack
Reacher, but with a sense of
humor and an unparalleled
ability to make and keep good
friends. Sit next to Dez on a
short flight to anywhere and
in no time you will be besties,
laughing at each other’s stories,
exchanging contact info and
planning to stay in touch.
He’s that kind of guy. When
the situation calls for it, he is
also a highly efficient killer.
Mind you, he doesn’t enjoy
killing but can certainly raise

the body count if it is necessary.
Dez was in the employ of a
shadowy government agency
as a gatekeeper. After a highly
secretive and important operation, he retired with the British
government’s gratitude. Try to
find anything out about Dez
and you will fail. There are no
records of his distant past, and
that is just the way he likes it.
Traveling around the United States of America, he has
made a cadre of good friends
and taken up a variety of new
interests. He is in New York
City focusing on cooking when
special agent Tom Fairweather
seeks Dez’s help. Fairweather
has seen Dez in action and is
impressed. In a remote part
of Newfoundland, a scientific
research facility, mining operation and the adjacent small
village have all gone dark – no
communications in or out.
This facility is of interest to the
U.S. government.
What is going to interest
Dez, and motivate him to help,
is that one of his close friends
was inside and underground
when all communication was
lost. It is feared that something
bad has happened.
The FBI, under the direction
of the U.S. State Department,
is sending in a team. They need
Dez. There is no question he
will go. Dez is a loyal friend and
the woman inside the facility is
special to him. Complicating
any rescue effort are the huge
storms bearing down on the
location. Of course, the bad
guys are eager to do them harm.
Byrne’s Dez series has lots
of action, is populated with
strong, intelligent women, and
is entertaining to read.
The perfect combination for
a summer reading adventure.

Dear Sunriver Utilities Customers,
rEliablE, courtEous sErvicE that you can DEpEnD on!
We want to let you know about an expected upcoming application with the Oregon Public Utilities Commission
(OPUC) that will affect your monthly water bill. The actual impact on your bill will depend on your water usage
and service size.
We always approach rate adjustments with careful consideration; this change is necessary to fund critical infrastructure improvements that directly benefit the safety, reliability, and long-term resilience of our community.
Why is this rate adjustment necessary?
• REPLACING AGING NECESSARY INFRASTRUCTURE: Our primary water reservoirs are nearing the end of their
operational lifespan. This funding will allow for their replacement and comprehensive upgrade, ensuring a clean,
reliable, and uninterrupted water supply for years to come.
• ENHANCING FIRE PROTECTION: Living in a forested environment means wildfire readiness is always a top priority.
The upgraded infrastructure will significantly increase fire flow capacity for our first responders—the quantity of
water available for firefighting purposes—giving emergency services a much stronger advantage in protecting our
homes and community.
Next Steps and Community Input
Because this will be a formal application with the OPUC, there will be opportunities for community review and public
comment. We are committed to transparency throughout this process and will share additional details regarding the
timeline, official filing documents, and public meeting schedules as soon as they are finalized.
MICHAEL BENNETT
Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we invest in the safety and future of Sunriver.
