Celebrate Easter with services by Sunriver Christian Fellowship
Sunriver Christian Fellowship
celebrates Easter week with special services and music. Everyone is cordially invited to come
and share this meaningful week
in the Christian calendar with a
caring congregation.
Palm Sunday service
Palm Sunday begins Holy
Week with the Rev. Barry Heath
speaking. Heath is a Presbyterian pastor living in Redmond.
His background includes a
doctorate in medical ethics, and
he works as a director of Pastoral
Care at Salem Hospital. His
passions are a love of teaching
and learning as well as providing
spiritual support in times of
personal and community crises.
His sermon will be “Does
God Care Enough?” This is a
question raised in Jerusalem and
that is often asked in the midst
of national and world chaos
as well as in times of personal
crises.
The SCF choir will sing "On
That Day When He Rode into
Jerusalem" by Beall and Carter.
Maundy Thursday
Soup Supper
On April 2, the traditional
Maundy Thursday Soup Supper will take place at 5 p.m. in
the Fellowship Hall.
Soup and bread will be served,
and a service will be woven into
the meal. All are welcome.

Support our waterways: Volunteer for the annual Deschutes River Cleanup in July
The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council has partnered
with the City of Bend, REI,
Tumalo Creek, Bend Park and
Recreation District, Visit Bend,
The Old Mill District, Central
Oregon Diving, Deschutes
County Search and Rescue,
Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Tours, Tumalo State Park,
La Pine State Park, Sunriver
Area Chamber of Commerce,
Sunriver Owners Association,
Greater Bend Rotary, and other
community volunteers to host
its annual Deschutes River
Cleanup.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday,
July 11, volunteers will meet at
either Farewell Bend Park or
other cleanup locations. River
cleanup activities will take place
in the Deschutes River and its
riparian areas between La Pine
State Park and Tumalo State
Park, including stretches of river
along Sunriver.
This day is an opportunity
for watershed stewards to get
their hands dirty and feet wet.
The annual cleanup is focused
on cleaning the river, and it is
an opportunity for everyone to
come together with community
members, local businesses and
other partners to benefit the
Deschutes River and its riparian
areas.
A dramatic increase in rec-
reation in and around the
Deschutes River has led to
increased debris in the river and
along its streambanks.
Community members are vital to keeping the river beautiful
and healthy and protecting ri-
parian habitat and water quality
for fish and wildlife. The event
raises awareness on how people
can help keep the river clean.

Do you own a
vacation rental?
All properties operating as a short-term rental are required
to register annually with Deschutes County for a Certificate
of Authority. Owners are also required to collect and pay the
8% tax from the occupants to the County and file quarterly or
monthly reports. Owners in contract with a property
management company are still required to register directly
with the County. Owners using a third-party booking service
such as Airbnb, are still required to complete reporting
forms.
Effective Sept. 1, 2025, per Deschutes County Code 4.08,
there will be a fee assessed for the issuance of the
Certificate of Authority - new registrations $300; annual
renewals $150.
